The broad brushstrokes...
-
I am originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico.
-
I migrated from the desert to the swamp to attend Emory University in Atlanta, graduating in 2018 with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a B.A. in Religious Studies.
-
I started my career as a behavioral neuroscience researcher at the National Institutes of Health, where I honed my technical skills.
-
I then transitioned to data science at ATA, LLC, pursuing the thrill of working at the cutting edge of machine learning and analytics, as well as the opportunity to transform piles of complex data into communicable insights.
My work...
-
In my current position at ATA, I work on the development and intregration of statistical and machine learning models into full stack data science solutions for our clients. I have been thriving on the challenge of working with clients in a myriad of different problem spaces, from conceptual navigation of natural language corpora to management of geospatial data layers in aviation.
-
In this position, I've also gotten serious about implementing MLOps (machine learning operations) practices in our projects and setting up frameworks for development, testing, deployment, and management of model services in production. This meant getting proficient in every layer of our tech stack, from databases to user experience, to understand how data science solutions interact with each. Before I knew it, I had become skilled in Clojure programming and was working alongside backend developers to test and debug our APIs while my ML models were being trained in the background.
-
I now consider myself part full-stack developer, part data scientist. My development skills ultimately complement my analytics and make me a better data scientist because I often don’t have to rely on developers to implement my solutions.
-
Before ATA, I worked with physiological, behavioral, and clinical data, creating data processing pipelines, applying statistical analyses, and creating visualizations to communicate discoveries
